  • Try contacting the Naval Historical Center. I have been on some subs that were docked and are now floating museums, but I don't know if they are sea worthy.

  • I remember watching an old (pr maybe recently new) wwII/ WWI movie where a group of fellows endup in a submarine. I recall one of the men had training in whale sounds as he brought his whale sound tapes with him, this eventually led a submarine away from them disguising themselves as a whale.

I remember another scene where a guy tapes a piece of yarn from one side of the hull to the otherside, as they dive to an extreme depth the yarn becomes less tensioned.

Im not sure why they were diving, but it may be to evade another submarine.

I can't remember the name but it starred Kelsey Grammar from Frasier.

    Just remembered "Down Periscope"
